Functional Lab Tests

After you purchase a lab test from us:

1. We will order the test through RUPA Health (the third party testing platform we have partnered with) and you will immediately receive an email from them instructing you what to do next.
2. You will need to fill out some information so they can ship you the lab test kit. Upon completing this step, they ship the test kit to you within 24 hours.
3. After you’ve followed the easy step by step instructions from the RUPA Health email, then you will have access to their customer support representatives along with many online resources to help answer your questions.
4. Once you’ve received the lab kit, then you will collect your sample after following the proper instructions included in your kit and return it to the lab company (shipping labels and instructions are included).

RUPA Health will answer all questions related to the lab tests. They have a large team of customer support representatives and can help walk you through the proper collection process and answer any questions about the test or about payment information.

They even have step by step videos that show you how to properly collect your sample if you are a visual learner.

Each lab company is a little different depending on the individual test ordered. Typically, upon receipt of the lab kit, the lab company will need 5-7 business days to process the sample(s).

Once we’ve received your test results from the lab company, we will share them with you right away along with follow up instructions that include how to schedule your lab consultation with us. The faster you collect your sample and ship it back to the company, the faster the results will be available.

Not right away. After your results are in you will receive an email with our Calendly link which will allow you to choose an appointment time with us.

Since there are many moving parts with no exact timeline, we have found it is easier for both parties to schedule after results have been received.

We do not charge any extra money for these tests. We understand these tests can be a big investment for many people and the cost of the lab tests seen on our website is exactly what the lab company charges to process the samples.

However, you will see a consult fee added to these tests upon check out which is what we charge for our time to dive into these specialty lab results, evaluate the areas that need addressing, and provide a thorough, actionable plan of suggestions when we meet to discuss your results. This pays for the follow up consultation appointment. There will be no added cost when it comes time to schedule that follow up appointment with us.

Unfortunately, no. Insurance companies require diagnosis codes and proof of “medical necessity,” so these functional medicine labs are typically considered elective when ordered through our site and are not covered by insurance.

However, RUPA offers a 3‑month, no‑interest payment plan to make testing more accessible. They accept cash, credit cards, HSA, and FSA funds.
